Gold and silver Up or Down markets
Polymarket US added gold and silver Up or Down markets in October 2026. They work like the crypto ones, with three differences that matter.
Updated 2026-10-29
1. They settle on one price, not an average
Crypto rounds settle on a 60-second average. Gold and silver settle on the Chainlink spot price at the end second. The last few seconds can flip a close round, so a bet that looks safe with 20 seconds left is less safe than the same bet on Bitcoin. (More on settlement.)
2. They have hours
Rounds run on weekdays, in 15-minute and hourly versions, with a short daily break around 5–6:15 PM Eastern. On weekends Polymarket US lists no gold or silver rounds at all. WickTape shows those markets as closed and their bots wait.
3. They move less, and trade less
Gold and silver move far less per minute than crypto, so the price to beat is often crossed back and forth by cents. They also trade less: gold's 15-minute rounds see a few thousand shares change hands, Bitcoin's around a hundred thousand. Spreads are wider, especially on silver, and a bigger order moves the price more.
Following them on WickTape
Gold and silver each get a 15-minute and an hourly market with its own paper-trading bot: gold 15-minute, gold hourly, silver 15-minute and silver hourly. Because these markets are thinner, the bots' paper fills can look better than a real order would get. Keep that in mind when reading their results.
