What happened
Stocks bounced on Friday after Thursday's rout. Bitcoin mostly didn't. It dipped to about $74,781, its lowest since Aug. 21, before settling back around $75,500 (Decrypt), and by the close it had flatlined under $76,000 (CoinDesk).
The big data point was the October jobs report. The U.S. added 165,000 jobs against an estimate of 65,000, unemployment dipped to 4.1%, and wages rose 0.4% for the month (CoinDesk). Traders raised their bets on another Fed rate hike in December, from about 67% to about 77% (Cointelegraph).
On Wall Street, the Nasdaq closed up 1.1% and the S&P 500 up 0.3%, while the Dow slipped 0.45%. Chip stocks bounced 3% but were still down more than 14% for the week (CoinDesk).
Other stories traders watched:
- More leverage flushed. About $1.05 billion of leveraged crypto positions were liquidated over 24 hours, roughly 88% of them bets on higher prices. The Fear & Greed Index fell to 28 (Decrypt).
- ETF money kept leaving. U.S. spot crypto ETFs had more than $500 million of net outflows on Thursday, and more than $1.1 billion for the week so far (The Block).

What to watch on Nov 7
- Inflation data next week. CPI and PPI reports are due next week, and they'll matter more after Friday's hot jobs numbers (CoinDesk).
- $74,780 below, $76,500 above. Decrypt named Friday's low as the first support, with $73,000โ$72,500 and then $70,000 under it. Resistance sits near $76,500, then around $80,000 (Decrypt). One analyst also warned about the weekly close (Cointelegraph). The Levels button shows where the price sits against the day's and week's range.
- A weekend market. Stocks are closed Saturday and Sunday, so crypto trades on its own, and gold and silver markets are closed. Weekend volume is often thinner. The new volume meter on the chart shows how busy trading is compared with normal.
